More Fanboy Sportswriters In Boston

You can't make this stuff up.

Dan Shaughnessy, reminding the rest of the league that the Patriots would've beaten them into the ground, whether they cheated or not:

"Notice how many rival players, coaches, and executives have pounced on the Pats and Belichick this week? There's been a rush to pile on, a frenzy of Patriot hate. It's residue of seven years of coaches being reminded that they are stooges - they will lose to the Patriots because Belichick and his guys are smarter than everyone else."

You heard it again! Belichick and his guys are "smarter" than everyone else. Mr. 36-44 with Vinny and Bernie is a Nobel Prize-winning biologist ... who discovered that no substance can loosen that tight seal between Shaugnessy's lips and Belichick's ass.

Here's more from the Danmeister:

"The pathetic Steelers, who never could come to grips with the fact that the Pats were better, are now using "Cheatgate" as an excuse for blowing the AFC Championship game at home in 2002. It'll never end now. Getting caught in this stupid stunt has emboldened all those who were legitimately flattened by the Patriots in the last seven years. And it's never going to go away."

Legitimately flattened, you say? Let's get to the "flattened" part first. I seem to recall the Pats losing the last two years, Dan. The Steelers won a Super Bowl and the Colts won a Super Bowl. Nevermind the 2002 season, when the Patriots failed to make the playoffs. Not much flattening during those campaigns.

And he must be including the 2007 campaign, and the one game the Patriots have played, in his "seven years" phrasing. After all, the 2000 Patriots went 5-11. That was Belichick's first season as coach.

Lastly, we have the apologist Dan:

"It's not fair, of course. Videotaping the other sideline is probably a tactic used by a lot of teams and no doubt it's been done for a long time. The competitive gain is certainly debatable and the punishment seems excessive, given that the Patriots had the misfortune to get caught."

Wow. I can't say I was expecting anything less than this from the braindead Boston fanboys. Just remember one thing this weekend, no matter what happens in the Charger game: Bill Belichick is smarter than you and he is curing disease.

You're going to have a long year ahead of you, having to read and listen to the Boston Sports Media. My condolences.
