Colorado mess sequel

Gotta love US Juriprudence...

The University of Colorado athletic department is said to have created the culture that encouraged sexual assaults and all the other events that took place during the Barnett era.

As the reps of the institution note, a recent, unprecedented ruling could give such a broad scope to Title IX (under which the claim at hand was brought to court) that schools all over the country wouldn't be able to handle it financially and administratively --- something like the whole policing social networking sites that badjocks.com loves exposing.

The recent positions of Higher Ed Law Profs is that there is no way one could impose such a responsibility to institutions, trying to find out all the things that do (or can) go wrong.

The link for the Chronicle article is here.

The Colorado legal team wants to put up a good fight and possibly does not want to settle as they proclaim here.

And to find out why it is fun for lawyers to pursue these cases to the end and charge anywhere b/t $400-500/hr check this last tidbit from the University of North Dakota v NCAA saga.

Enjoy your week
